In the warmer months, enjoy all that Sutherland Downs Retreat has to offer. Swim, surf, laze about watching stunning coral sunrises across the lake (mesmerising at best), play games, picnic next to the dam or anywhere else that takes your fancy, hit some golf balls…Or try your hand at yabby fishing in the dam while the kids run to the resident ponies to pat.
What’s not to love with expansive, turquoise, clear Wallis Lake water views, an oasis of expansive green paddock for the kids to play with the pooch they’ve brought on holiday. There’s a swimming pool, fully equipped games room with table tennis & pool tables, Finska, bocce, hoop toss & cricket plus a 150m golf driving range!
Explore the beauty of the local area too & its native wildlife refuge at the incredibly picturesque Wallingat National Park or paddle out with excitement to the dolphins, turtles & rays who call this place home. There’s also the local Aquatic Club, popular sailing lessons for the kids & hobby farmyard animals just 5 minutes away. A 15min drive will see you at Elizabeth Beach, Blueys & Boomerang and other Mid-Coast beaches – renowned to be the best surf beach on the eastern coast of Australia.
In winter’s cool coastal tranquility, it’s the perfect time to whale watch, surf or snuggle up to a cosy fireplace or outdoor fire pit with a glass of vino or beer & good friends. Just when it couldn’t get any better, slink into the hot jacuzzi in the main bedroom!

Sutherland Downs Retreat were awarded joint winners of the Master Builders Association for the Best Use of Timber & showcases stunning Rose Gum flooring, Blue Gum, Oregon, Tasmanian & American Oak, Plywood & Western Red Cedar interiors. Beautifully crafted timbers make it feel warm & relaxing.
