QLD Fraser Coast boasts exceptional natural wonders the world heritage listed K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) that spans 123km from north to south and is approximately 22km wide. Brimming with ancient sand dunes, lush flora and rainforests, clear freshwater lakes and wild / sea life such as dingoes, dolphins, dugongs, flying foxes, manta rays, possums, soldier crabs, turtles,  and wallabies.

Drive up to beach to reach the Champagne Rock Pools or drive towards the middle of the island to see the clear freshwater Lake McKenzie.  A very serious matter is leaving rubbish behind. It is frankly a non-no, for the environment and your safety as dingoes roam wild on the island. Make sure you leave no food or garbage behind as some local dingos. Stay away from them and don’t be tempted to pat them. Some say that Hervey Bay offers the best humpback whale experience in season (May to November).
