Things to Do Around Tumbarumba, NSW: Nature Trails, Gourmet Foods and Adventure

There are plenty of things to do around Tumbarumba, NSW despite the towns size. It’s a quaint little town in high country surrounded by spectacular scenery of the Snowy Mountains, yet it’s positioning determines what activities you choose to do. For instance, to the south, there is Mt Kosciusko and the range of high-altitude, adventure-filled activities. To the west of Tumbarumba, there lies the iconic Murray River which offers a more relaxed, water-based, and cultural experience in Murray Darling wine region,

In summer, cycle, hike, fish, mountain bike, explore historic towns. Or wade into crisp, clear waterfalls or fish, canoe and smoke up a fire pit for a picnic or star gaze on chilly Tumbarumba evenings. Lap up the snow in winter as it’s a great base for Mount Selwyn skiing.

So, because of its location, Tumbarumba and surrounds are an ideal holiday destination in a playground of original Gold Rush and cowboy territory.
