This was once an important meeting place for aboriginal people The walking track is about 3.7km – start from the car park closer to Ulladullla (27 km to the north) however Batemans Bay is the closest town if traveling from Canberra. Head to the right hand corner once parked then along a poorly identified trail down the the beach. Turn left and you’re on your way following the signs. Bring your swimmers as there’s three opportunities to swim. There are very few sites on the NSW South Coast with this much heritage dating back 12,000 years.

Focus is on the adjoining lagoon; with its clean sand and shallow water it is a haven for young children and their parents. Discover shells, and you may spot an octopus in the rock pools or hermit crabs along the shore are fun to spot too. For the more adventurous there is a rock platform to explore and Huskisson Beach is just around the corner. For the really adventurous there is even a bridge to jump off (into the creek). Mr Whippy usually comes along on a summer afternoon so that’s a bonus! Absolutely beautiful, very unique place.
